A collection of works by the super talented poster artist Michael English. This superbook documents his progress from San Francisco style psychedelia in the Art Nouveau style, to light-hearted pop airbrush superrealism, to wistful, ecologically conscious depictions of nature and machinery.
English began his career in 1966 as a muralist for Swinging London, working on Michael Rainey's Chelsea store "Hung on You" and Nigel Weymouth's famous Kings Road store "Granny Takes a Trip. "In 1967 founded the design firm "Hapshash and the Coloured Coat." In the 1970s, he turned to hyperrealism, creating posters depicting food, garbage, and objects hitting the water.
