Prison work products have been made without any kind of individuality or self-assertion, in pursuit of the ordinary, or more specifically, the tacky and mediocre. Tsuzuki finds in these products the extreme north of monodzukuri. Even the philosophy of minimalism found in MUJI is absent here. Anyway, mediocrity is the identity of prison work products.
